One of the most exciting events hosted by the Society is our annual Summer Fair. This event has been variously called "Garlic Days", "Rodeo Days", "Redwater Summer Festival" and "Discovery Days" in recognition ot the discovery of the Redwater oilfield in 1948.
The summer fair has included such events in the past as rodeos, horse shows, trade shows, demolition derbys midways, ball tournaments, dunk tanks, music festivals, clowns, animal acts and of course, a parade!
In 2017, Discovery days included:
Our Annual Bench show highlighting various crafts, designs, flowers, vegetables and more!
Lunch at the Pioneer club
Steak supper at the Legion
Saturday morning Parade with candy for the kids(even the big ones!)
Fly'n Bob and his acrobatic show
Show 'n shine,
Rides for the kids, games for the bigger kids ,
movies in Provident place, snacks on the school grounds
Art exhibit by the Art club
Annual Discovery Days ball tournament
Adult dance at Provident Place
Mini Donuts, Access barbeque, fast food and popcorn!
and BIG BIG BIG fireworks on Saturday nite - even put to music. A SPECTACULAR SHOW.
The Society is trying to grow the event each year to remind us all of the early days when the whole community was involved - let's all get together and enjoy the comraderie of neighbors and friends getting together in a festive spirit and festival of events.
